Rcb Wpl & Ipl Champion Pti
Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) has once again won the Women's Premier League (WPL) title. RCB women's team, captained by Smriti Mandhana, again defeated Delhi Capitals by 6 wickets in a thrilling and record-breaking final. With this, Bengaluru won the title for the second time in the 4-year history of WPL. Earlier in 2024 also, RCB had won the title for the first time by defeating Delhi. In this way, RCB got its third consecutive title in 3 years. Also, the Bengaluru franchise did something amazing which had never happened before in the history of T20 league in India.
Played in Vadodara on Thursday 5 February wpl 2026 final Delhi Capitals had scored 203 runs, which was the record for the highest score in any final of WPL. In such a situation, to win the title, Bengaluru not only had to make the highest score in the final, but also had to make the record of the biggest run chase in WPL history, which was earlier also held by RCB (203 runs). On the basis of captain Mandhana's explosive innings of 87 runs in 41 balls, Bengaluru achieved this record target by losing 4 wickets in 19.4 overs and once again got their name written on the trophy.
In this way, RCB won the WPL title for the second time and became the second team after Mumbai Indians to do so. But this victory is even more special for RCB as a franchise because it has created a new record. In fact, Royal Challengers Bangalore has become the first franchise in Indian cricket, which holds the WPL and IPL trophies at the same time. Under the captaincy of Rajat Patidar, the RCB men's team won IPL 2025, which was the franchise's first title in this league. After that now RCB Women's team has won the WPL.
In this way, before the next champion of IPL is decided, RCB is the champion of both the tournaments of the Indian T20 League. This title win of RCB has proved the changing fortunes of the franchise and also its dominance. After the start of IPL in 2008, RCB could not win any title for 16 consecutive years and the franchise's bag remained empty. But now this team has 3 titles in its trophy cabinet in 3 consecutive years. In 2024, under the captaincy of Mandhana, the team won the WPL title for the first time. After this, RCB won the first IPL trophy in 2025 and now in 2026 also the franchise has won the WPL.
