Royal Challengers Bengaluru defeated the Delhi Capitals by 6 wickets in the final of the WPL 2026. With their win, RCB won the Women’s Premier League for the second time. Chasing a target of 204 runs, Bengaluru pressed the attacking button from the start, with captain Smriti Mandhana leading from the front, scoring 87 runs off 41 balls, laced with 12 boundaries and 3 sixes.
She was helped by Georgia Voll, who amassed 79 runs off 54 deliveries, including 14 fours. The two added 165 runs for the second wicket. However, Delhi put the rivals under pressure when Voll and Richa Ghosh (6) were dismissed in a span of seven balls. Smriti added a few more runs to the total before Henry got rid of her.
It looked like the Capitals were on the verge of something special before Radha Yadav (12* off 5) and Nadine de Klerk (7* off 5) completed the task in 19.4 overs.
Earlier, DC batters showed their class to take the score to 203/4. Lizelle Lee (37 off 30) and Shafali Verma (20 off 13) were impressive as openers. DC skipper Jemimah Rodrigues was unstoppable from the time she came to the middle, accumulating 57 runs in 37 balls, packed with 8 fours.
Chinelle Henry played a sensational knock of 35 not out in 15 balls, with 4 boundaries and 2 sixes coming from her bat.
Laura Wolvaardt once again came to the rescue of her franchise in the death over, managing an unbeaten 44 runs off 25 deliveries, including 3 fours and 2 sixes.
RCB are the second franchise after the Mumbai Indians to lift the trophy twice, while DC have lost four successive finals.
