Travis Head opened up on his fearless batting approach for SRH stating that the Australian squad wanted him to play that way. Head maintained his terrific run in the IPL 2024, carrying over his form from international cricket. Head’s explosive 89-run innings against LSG in Hyderabad earned him the Player of the Match award.

SRH crushed LSG by 10 wickets to move up to third place in the points standings. Speaking at the post-match presentation, Head discussed using the powerplay to the fullest and improving his performance against spinners. The batsman underlined that improving his spin-hitting technique would be important for him at the ICC T20 World Cup 2024.

“Fantastic day today. It’s nice to finish this within ten overs. This is not the first partnership that Abhi and I have had. Simply focus on positioning yourself well, pay close attention to the ball, and try to maximize the powerplay. (On his spinning hitting) It’s something I’ve been working on, and the Caribbean will see a lot of it as well. In the modern game, going 360 is crucial,” Head said.

“From the past 12 months, the Australian team instructed me to play in this manner and also this how even SRH wants me to play,” he added.

Head spoke about his remarkable partnership with Abhishek Sharma, who struck 75 off of 28 balls. Having scored more runs in his debut season for SRH than David Warner, he was delighted.

“There’s not much I need to alter.  I know how intense he works and how serious his thinking is, his striking against spin is unmatched. We really do complement each other. It’s good to see him scoring after having a couple of tough outings. We didn’t give it much thought until the timeout, but the guys came out and instructed us to score as soon as possible (on NRR),” he further stated.
