Royal Challengers Bengaluru and Delhi Capitals will meet in a Women’s Premier League final for the second time when they face off at the Kotambi Stadium in Vadodara on Thursday.
Their previous WPL summit clash came on March 17, 2024 at the Arun Jaitley Stadium in New Delhi. RCB sealed a spot in the final by beating Mumbai Indians in the Eliminator, while DC entered the title match as table-topper.
In that 2024 final, Smriti Mandhana-led RCB clinched its maiden WPL title with an eight-wicket win over DC. Sophie Molineux was named Player of the Match for her game-changing three-wicket burst.
After DC opted to bat, openers Shafali Verma and Meg Lanning gave the innings early momentum with a 64-run stand, before Molineux turned the game on its head with three wickets in the space of four balls.
Smriti, Ellyse Perry, and Sophie Devine notched up 30+ scores to guide RCB to its first WPL title, and condemn DC to a second consecutive runner-up finish.

In the eighth over, the Australia international first dismissed Shafali before cleaning up Jemimah Rodrigues and Alice Capsey for ducks off consecutive deliveries.
From there, Delhi’s innings never regained momentum as RCB’s spinners tightened the screws. Shreyanka Patil picked up four wickets, while Asha Sobhana chipped in with two as DC was bowled out for 113 in 18.3 overs.
Despite economical spells from Shikha Pandey, Marizanne Kapp and Capsey that dragged the chase deep, the target was never quite enough. Mandhana, Ellyse Perry and Sophie Devine all crossed 30 to steer RCB to its maiden WPL title, while DC finished runner-up for a second straight season.
