IND vs SA, T20 World Cup Warm Up 2026: Before the T20 World Cup 2026, Team India played its only warm-up match against South Africa. In this match played at DY Patil Sports Academy, Navi Mumbai, India gave a crushing defeat to South Africa. India won the toss and batted first and made a big score and then the bowlers also performed well. Now the Indian team will be seen playing its first match in the tournament on February 7, where it will face the USA team.
India scored runs in explosive style
Batting first in this match, Team India scored 240 runs at the loss of 5 wickets in 20 overs.
During this, Ishan Kishan scored 53 runs in just 20 balls, which included 2 fours and 7 sixes. Abhishek Sharma also retired hurt after scoring 24 runs in 18 balls. Tilak Verma scored 45 runs in 19 balls and made a strong comeback. Captain Suryakumar Yadav contributed 30 runs on 16 balls. After this, Hardik Pandya played an explosive inning of 30 runs in 10 balls. Akshar Patel also remained at the crease after scoring unbeaten 35 runs. Rinku Singh added 16 runs on 13 balls. South Africa had a bad start
The South African team could not make a good start while chasing 241 runs. George Linde was out without opening the account. Captain Aiden Markram also retired after scoring 38 runs. However, Ryan Rickelton scored 44 runs needed.
Tristan Stubbs also returned unbeaten after scoring 45 runs. Marco Yanson also scored 31 runs. But the South African team could score only 210 runs at the loss of 7 wickets in 20 overs and India won the match by 30 runs.On the other hand, Abhishek Sharma took maximum 2 wickets for India in this match. Whereas, Akshar Patel, Varun Chakraborty, Shivam Dubey and Arshdeep Singh took 1 wicket each. India took full advantage of the warm-up match and used 9 bowlers. However, Arshdeep Singh, who is also an important bowler of the team, was given a chance to bowl full 4 overs.
But Jasprit Bumrah did not come on the field.
