Delhi: Before the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2026, former Indian captain and veteran wicketkeeper batsman Mahendra Singh Dhoni has given his opinion on the preparations of Team India. During a program, Dhoni talked openly about the strength, balance and possibilities of the current Indian team.
Dhoni believes that the Indian team is looking very balanced and dangerous at the moment. According to him, the qualities that any team needs to win the World Cup, like experience, fearless batting, sharp bowling and agile fielding, are all present in this team. For this reason he described India as a big contender for the title.
However, Dhoni also pointed towards an important challenge. He said that dew becomes a big factor in the matches played in India. Recalling his playing days, Dhoni said that dew often changed the direction of the match and it was always a matter of concern for the captains. The current team will have to make a strategy keeping this aspect in mind.
The former captain also said that the players of the Indian team are fulfilling the responsibilities assigned to them very well. The special thing is that the players are continuously performing well, which increases the confidence of the team before any big tournament.
According to Dhoni, the current form and preparation of Team India is a good sign for the upcoming T20 World Cup. If the team maintains this rhythm and adapts itself according to the circumstances, then the dream of winning the title can definitely be fulfilled.
