Former Indian World Cup-winning captain and batting legend MS Dhoni has expressed his concern about the upcoming T20 World Cup. He said that Team India is “one of the most dangerous teams” in this World Cup, but the biggest challenge for them will be the effect of dew, which will make the toss important. Dhoni made this statement during an event on the YouTube channel of cricket commentator and presenter Jatin Sapru.
Dhoni, popularly known as ‘Thala’, has won the 2007 T20 World Cup, 2011 ODI World Cup and 2013 ICC Champions Trophy. Additionally, he has won the trophy five times in the IPL with Chennai Super Kings and twice in the Champions League T20.
Dhoni believes that India have extensive experience in this format and they have proved themselves as players playing under pressure. However, in dew conditions the importance of winning the toss increases. He said, “When I was playing, I was very afraid of dew. It changes everything and the impact of the toss becomes more.”
This time India will get a chance to win the World Cup on home ground, due to which they can become the team to successfully defend the T20 World Cup for the first time in history.
