The eliminator match of Women’s Premier League 2026 is being played between Gujarat Giants and Delhi Capitals on Tuesday, February 3 at the Vadodara International Cricket Stadium, Kotambi. In this important match, Delhi Capitals captain Jemimah Rodrigues won the toss and decided to bowl first.
The start of Gujarat Giants, who came to bat first, was not as expected. The very second over brought a big shock to the team. Fast bowler Chinelle Henry bowled the last ball of the over on a hard length around the off stump, which went outside with extra bounce. Sophie Devine tried to play a cut shot, but the ball was too close to her body.
Devine’s bat hit the thick outer edge of the ball and Lizelle Lee, standing behind the wicket, showed tremendous reflexes and took a brilliant catch in the air with her right hand. This catch was so fast and effortless that the spectators were stunned. Sophie Devine returned to the pavilion after scoring 6 runs in 9 balls and Gujarat Giants got the first big blow on just 9 runs.
