Lucknow: Former player Basit Ali has given a big challenge to Pakistan captain Babar Azam. He says that if Babar hits three sixes in a row then he will close his YouTube channel and if Azam is unable to do so then he will stop opening for Pakistan. Let us tell you that Babar's strike rate is often discussed in T-20 cricket and it is said that he cannot bat at a good strike rate. Now Ali has given him a big challenge on this.

If we look at Azam's T20I cricket career, his strike rate is not that effective. In such a situation, he is often criticized because nowadays, fast batting in powerplay has become an important part of this format. Only 2 fielders are out for the first 6 overs and despite this, Pakistan does not score much runs during this period and that is why Babar is criticized. Now while talking on his YouTube channel, Basit has given a big statement.
He said, “I challenge Babar Azam that if he hits 3 consecutive sixes against top teams in the T-20 World Cup, I will close my YouTube channel. I am not saying that they should do this against small teams like USA and Ireland, they have to do this against big teams. If Azam could not do this then he should stop opening for Pakistan. This is my open challenge for Azam and if he accepts it then come, if I am proved wrong then I will do what I said but if Babar cannot do it then he will have to leave the opening.”
Let us tell you that there is a lot of discussion about the strike rate of a right-handed batsman. Even many former players of Pakistan have advised Azam that he should bat at number three in T-20 cricket. In fact, after the defeat in the ICC World Cup 2023, the star player was removed from the captaincy, after which he was seen playing at number three under the captaincy of Shaheen Afridi in the T-20 series against New Zealand. In this series, he had scored three consecutive half-centuries, in which runs came from his bat at a good strike rate.
