Ishan Kishan got a chance to play in the last match of the five-match T20 series between India and New Zealand. In this match, Ishan Kishan made a brilliant comeback and surprised everyone with his batting. After being out of the last match due to injury, he made a comeback and played an explosive innings, defeating the Kiwi bowlers. During this innings, he accomplished a feat which is rarely seen in international cricket. Along with this, he also scored a century for the first time in his T20I career.
Ishan Kishan batted brilliantly in this match and completed his half-century in just 28 balls. Especially in the 12th over of the Indian innings, he completely targeted New Zealand spinner Ish Sodhi. The over started with a wide, after which Ishaan hit 3 consecutive fours. Then he ended the over with a six on the fourth ball, another four on the fifth ball and again a six on the last ball. In this way, he scored a total of 29 runs in 6 balls, which included 4 fours and 2 sixes.
Due to this expensive over, a shameful record was also registered in the name of Ish Sodhi.
This proved to be the second most expensive over bowled by New Zealand in T20I. However, Ish Sodhi has already spent 29 runs in an over once before, which came in the last match of the series. But Ishaan did not stop here. He also hit a six on his first ball of the next over, due to which he achieved the brilliant feat of hitting 7 boundaries (fours and sixes) on 7 consecutive balls.Ishan Kishan did not take much time to reach the century from half-century and touched the 100-run mark in a total of 42 balls.
That means he completed the journey from 50 to 100 runs in just 14 balls. This is also the record for the fastest century in T20 against New Zealand. However, he was out on his own ball after completing his century. He scored 103 runs in 43 balls, which included 6 fours and 10 sixes.
