With this victory, Gujarat team has qualified for the eliminator.
While chasing the target, Mumbai had a bad start and 3 wickets fell till the total score of 37 runs. After this, captain Harmanpreet Kaur took charge of one end and made important partnerships with fellow players. But no other player could contribute much.
Harmanpreet played a stormy inning of unbeaten 82 runs in 48 balls, hitting 8 fours and 4 sixes. This is the first time that despite Harmanpreet’s half-century, the team has faced defeat. Sanjeevan Sanjana scored 26 runs and Amelia Keran scored 20 runs.
For Gujarat, Sophie Devine and Georgia Werham took 2-2 wickets, Kashvi Gautam, Ashley Gardner and Rajeshwari Gaikwad took 1-1 wicket.
After winning the toss and batting first, Gujarat Giants scored 167 runs at the loss of 4 wickets. Sophie Devine scored 25 runs and Anushka Sharma scored 33 runs. After both of them returned to the pavilion, captain Ashley Gardner and Georgia Wareham added 71 runs in 43 balls for the fourth wicket.
Gardner scored 46 runs in 28 balls and Wareham played an unbeaten inning of 44 runs in 26 balls.
For Mumbai Indians, Amelia Kerr took 2 wickets, Nat Sciver-Brunt and Shabnim Ismail took 1 wicket each.
