Trial was a hit in Alakhpura village
There is no dearth of young sports talent in India, but the country definitely needs strong grassroots programs that can identify these talents, nurture them and guide them in reaching the international level. TV9 Network's News9 Indian Tigers & Tigresses Season 2 has taken an important step in this direction in collaboration with the Bundesliga. The aim of this ongoing campaign in the country is to develop world class football players through well-planned training. As part of the North Region trial, TV9 Network partnered with Alakhpura, a football club based in Bhiwani, Haryana.
The two-day trial camp received an excellent response, especially from young women football players. Alakhpura, a village in Bhiwani district, is famous as the “Mini Brazil” of the country for its extraordinary women's football culture at the grassroots level.The trials held on the opening day were only for girls, in which 224 players participated in 18 teams from Haryana, Delhi, Punjab and Uttar Pradesh. Each team had 11 players, reflecting the growing popularity of football among young girls.
TV9 Network's News 9 Indian Tigers & Tigresses Season 2 aims to select one girls team and one boys team from across the country, in collaboration with the Bundesliga. Selected teams will get the opportunity to train and play in Germany. The selected boys and girls will also get access to modern facilities, advanced strategies and experience of international competition.

All the players expressed their gratitude to TV9 Network for providing them the opportunity through the News 9 Indian Tigers & Tigresses campaign in collaboration with the Bundesliga. Many players said that learning international techniques and match understanding will help them improve their game. Haryana Sports Department football coach Sonika Wijarnia, while praising the News 9 Indian Tigers and Tigresses initiative of TV9 network started in collaboration with the Bundesliga, said that the boys and girls selected in the grassroots level trials will get a chance to go to Germany.
He further said that despite bad weather on the second day, 224 girls and 65 boys took part in the trials. Satbir Singh, who came as the chief guest at the trial, and Alakhpura Football Club President Suresh also thanked TV9 network for giving opportunity to the players and praised the initiative.In the first season of TV9 network's News9 Indian Tigers & Tigresses, 12 girls and 16 boys, along with three Indian coaches, toured Austria and Germany after months of rigorous trials and a nationwide search for young football superstars.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi gave a historic farewell to the country's top young football stars selected in the football talent search program at the 'What India Thinks Today 2025' (WITT 2025) Global Summit held in New Delhi. This global summit, organized by India's largest news network TV9, was held in March 2025 at Bharat Mandapam in Delhi. After a successful tour of Europe, the young footballers were welcomed at the Austrian Embassy by Honorable Sports Minister Mansukh Mandaviya and Austrian Ambassador to India Katharina Visser.
