The 18th match of the Women’s Premier League 2026 was played on Thursday (January 29) between UP Warriors and Royal Challengers Bangalore at the Vadodara International Cricket Stadium in Kotambi. In this match, UP Warriors batted first.
UP Warriors had a good start as Meg Lanning and Deepti Sharma added 74 runs in 49 balls for the first wicket. Meg Lanning played an inning of 41 runs in 30 balls. However, after this the middle order completely faltered. Amy Jones (1), Harleen Deol (14) and Chloe Tryon (6) were out early, which put a brake on the team’s run rate.
However, Deepti Sharma continued to fight from one end and played an important half-century of 55 runs in 43 balls, which included 6 fours and 1 six. But they did not get much support from the other end and UP Warriors team could score only 143 runs.
In this innings for RCB, Nadine de Klerk performed brilliantly and took 4 wickets, while Grace Harris got 2 wickets. Shreyanka Patil and Lauren Bell also took 1-1 wicket.
Chasing the target of 144 runs, Royal Challengers Bangalore had a explosive start. Grace Harris and captain Smriti Mandhana almost ended the match here by making a stormy partnership of 108 runs in 54 balls for the first wicket. Grace Harris, batting aggressively, scored 75 runs in 37 balls, which included 13 fours and 2 sixes. Whereas Smriti Mandhana showed an excellent mix of restraint and aggression and scored unbeaten 54 runs in 27 balls. As a result, RCB achieved the target in just 13.1 overs.
Shikha Pandey and Asha Shobhana got 1 wicket each for UP Warriors, but they could not avoid defeat.
Overall, Royal Challengers Bangalore registered a resounding 8-wicket win, securing their 6th win in their 8th match and directly entering the finals. Whereas UP Warriors’ playoff hopes are almost over.
