Delhi: Former Australian cricket team's veteran opener Matthew Hayden has praised Rajasthan Royals (RR) captain and strong wicketkeeper batsman Sanju Samson, who is winning the hearts of fans with his batting in the current edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL 2024). He has described the Indian player as the 'Master Blaster' player of IPL 2024. Hayden said that he has the power to hit shots and power is a big thing in T20 cricket.

Samson played a brilliant inning of 86 runs for Rajasthan Royals in the 56th match of the 17th season played at the Arun Jaitley Stadium against Delhi Capitals (DC) on Tuesday, but his team lost the match by 20 runs. He has scored 471 runs in 11 matches so far in the current season and is third in the list of batsmen who have scored the most runs.
52-year-old Matthew Hayden said, “Sanju Samson was batting like a dream. He scored 86 runs in 46 balls. He has proved his ability time and again. He has been a master blaster throughout the tournament, handling both spin and fast bowling efficiently.”
The former Kangaroo opener further said, “He plays his innings well. He has power and power is a big thing in T20 cricket. However, what stands out is his commitment to his team. “They need a little luck, especially at the end of the match.”
