Daryl Mitchell (born 20 May 1991) is a New Zealand cricketer who represents the Black Caps in all formats and plays domestic cricket for Canterbury. Known for his consistency and adaptability, he has become one of the leading batters in world cricket, 

especially in One Day Internationals, where he currently holds the No. 1 ICC batting ranking. A dependable middle-order batter and useful medium-pace bowler, Mitchell debuted internationally in 2019 and is the son of former rugby star and coach John Mitchell.

In international cricket, Daryl Mitchell has been a valuable and versatile performer across all three formats. 

In Test matches, he has scored over 2,175 runs at an average of around 43.5 with a strike rate in the low 50s, showing his ability to build long innings.

 He also impressed with 66 against Sri Lanka and a steady 59 not out versus India. Mitchell added a fluent 51 not out against the Netherlands and a composed 48 versus Ireland, underlining his value as a reliable middle-order batter.

He has scored over 2,175 Test runs at around 43.5, including five centuries, and more than 2,690 ODI runs at an average above 58 with nine hundreds. He also has over 1,700 T20I runs with a top score of 72. 

His top achievements include reaching No. 1 in the ICC ODI batting rankings, equalling the most 50-plus scores in ODIs since 2023, key centuries against India, and a dominant partnership of 219 runs with Glenn Phillips to seal an ODI series win.

Daryl Mitchell has featured in 15 Indian Premier League matches, representing teams like Rajasthan Royals and Chennai Super Kings since his debut in 2022. He has scored 351 runs at an average of 27.00 and a strike rate of around 131, including two half-centuries, with a highest score of 63 against the Gujarat Titans.

 He has hit 28 fours and 10 sixes in his IPL career. With the ball, Mitchell has claimed one wicket, with best bowling figures of 1 for 18. He also tied the IPL record for most catches in a match with five catches in a game.
