U19 World Cup 2026: Japan Under-19 team achieved a historic victory in the ICC Under-19 World Cup 2026. In the playoff match for 15th and 16th place, Japan defeated Tanzania Under-19 team by 9 wickets. This is Japan's first victory in this tournament. On the other hand, Tanzanian team could not win a single match in the entire tournament. In this match, an amazing game was seen from the Japanese team. In reply, Japan had a strong start. Nihar Parmar and Taylor Waugh made a brilliant partnership of 122 runs for the first wicket, which lasted for 27 overs. Parmar scored unbeaten 53 runs, while Waugh was run out after scoring 47 runs in 90 balls.
After this, Hugo Tani-Kelly ended the match by hitting a four and a six. Japan won by scoring 136 runs at the loss of 1 wicket in 28.2 overs. Parmar was chosen player of the match for his all-round performance.
