ICC’s final decision, Bangladesh out of T20 World Cup, now competition between these 20 teams

ICC T20 World Cup 2026: The International Cricket Council (ICC) has taken a big decision regarding the T20 World Cup 2026. Bangladesh team has been excluded from this tournament to be jointly hosted by India and Sri Lanka. This decision was taken due to the stance of Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) in which they had refused to play matches in India. Along with this, ICC has also decided the name of the new team, which is going to be a part of the tournament in place of Bangladesh.

The tournament is scheduled to start from February 2026, and Bangladesh had said not to play its matches in India citing security reasons. BCB consistently took a firm stand on this issue and demanded ICC to schedule the match outside India, but ICC rejected it. ICC made it clear that according to the rules of the tournament, all the teams will have to play at the designated venues. In this situation ICC had to take the drastic step of excluding Bangladesh. According to media reports, ICC has sent an email to the Chairman of Bangladesh Cricket Board informing him about its decision.

Scotland has been officially included in place of Bangladesh. Scotland has become part of Group C. This group will now have teams from England, West Indies, Nepal, Italy and Scotland. Scotland has been selected on the basis of ICC team rankings. They were at the top among the teams which were eliminated from the qualifier round.

Scotland match schedule

The Scotland team will start its campaign with the match against West Indies on 7 February. After this, he will face Italy on 9th February. At the same time, on February 14, the Scotland team will face England. After this she will play her last group match against Nepal. This will be Scotland's 7th T20 World Cup. Before this, in 6 editions he has played a total of 22 matches and won only 7 matches. In such a situation, Scotland will be eyeing to take advantage of this big opportunity and would like to win as many matches as possible.
