The Indian cricket team captained by Shubman Gill will remain away from Test cricket for the next few months. But the fans of this format are going to see the Indian team in action in March. Yes, the Indian women's cricket team, captained by Harmanpreet Kaur, will tour Australia in February, where it will play a series of all three formats, including a Test match. The Indian squad has been announced for this test match only. Opener Pratika Raval, who was injured during the World Cup 2025, has now fully recovered and will take the field for the first time after about 4.30.
The Indian team will tour Australia in February-March, where it will play ODI and T20 series. After these two series, the tour will end with the only Test match to be held in Perth. This match will run from 6 to 9 March, in which Team India will come out to show its dominance. The command of the team will once again be in the hands of Harmanpreet Kaur, while Smriti Mandhana will remain the vice-captain. On the basis of recent good form, explosive young opener Shefali Verma has also made her place in the team.
For this tour, some players are getting a chance in the Test squad for the first time, in which Pratika Raval is also included. She suffered an injury during the World Cup in October 2025, due to which she could not play the semi-finals and final. Also, she is not a part of WPL and will not be able to play ODI-T20 series in Australia. However, the board hopes that she will be fit by the test match, hence she has been selected. Pratika, who will make her international debut in December 2024, will be a part of the Test team for the first time.
Apart from Pratika, 3 other young players have got a chance in the Test team for the first time, who are continuously doing well in international and domestic cricket. Among these, the names of young all-rounder Amanjot Kaur and young pacer Kranti Goud are special. Both are doing well in ODI and T20 formats and were major contributors to the team's World Cup victory. At the same time, 20-year-old left arm spinner Vaishnavi Sharma, who made her international debut in December itself, has also been given a chance for the first time.
Apart from this, BCCI has also announced the Indian Women's A team for the Asia Cup Rising Stars tournament. There are only a few players in this who have experience of international cricket. The most experienced among them is left-arm spin-all-rounder Radha Yadav, who has also been made the captain of the team.
