The recently concluded 12th edition of the Bangladesh Premier League ended with Rajshahi Warriors registering their name in the history books, lifting their maiden BPL title with a clinical performance in the final at Mirpur. Put in to bat by Chattogram Royals, Rajshahi rode on a sensational century from opener Tanzid Hasan to post 174 for 4. Tanzid held the innings together with a 100 off 62 balls, becoming only the third batter to score a century in a BPL final. He was well supported by Sahibzada Farhan and cameos from Kane Williamson.

Defending the total, Rajshahi’s bowlers kept the opposition on their toes.

Binura Fernando finished with figures of 4 for 9, while left-arm spinner Hasan Murad looked brilliant in the middle order with three wickets. Chattogram, despite Mirza Baig’s 39, never found momentum and were bowled out for 111 in 17.5 overs, handing Rajshahi a 63-run win.
