Gujarat Giants returned to winning ways, defeating the UP Warriorz by 45 runs in the Women’s Premier League 2026. Despite posting 153/8, they managed to dismiss the Warriorz for 108 runs in 17.3 overs. Phoebe Litchfield was the top run-getter, amassing 32 runs off 27 deliveries, laced with 5 boundaries. Captain Meg Lanning (14) and Chloe Tryon (30*) were the other two batters to enter the double-digit mark, but the remaining players couldn’t contribute.

GG bowlers deserve all the credit for not giving any freebies to UP batters, with Rajeshwari Gayakwad proving unplayable. She picked up three wickets and conceded just 9 runs from her 4 overs. Renuka Singh was equally impressive, taking two wickets and giving away 20 runs from 4 overs. Two batters were undone by Sophie Devine.

Kashvee Gautam, and Ashleigh Gardner were also among the wickets, adding one scalp each.

Earlier, the Giants were in all sorts of trouble before Devine’s unbeaten 50 off 42 balls took them to 153/8. She hit three sixes and 2 fours in her match-winning knock. Apart from her, Beth Mooney contributed 38 runs in 34 deliveries, laced with 5 fours. Danni Wyatt-Hodge (14 off 8), Anushka Sharma (14 off 8) and Kashvee Gautam (11 off 6) were impactful with the bat in a low-scoring match.

Kranti Gaud and Sophie Ecclestone got rid of two batters each, while Deepti Sharma and Chloe Tryon also took 1 wicket each. Gujarat Giants have 6 points from 6 matches and are in second spot. On the other hand, UP Warriorz have secured 4 points from 6 matches and are fifth in the standings.
