Axar Patel Finger Injury: Team India performed brilliantly in the first T20 International match against New Zealand and won by 48 runs. This match between the two teams was played at the Vidarbha Cricket Association Stadium in Nagpur. But amidst this victory, Team India also suffered a big loss. Actually, all-rounder Axar Patel suffered a finger injury during the match, due to which he had to leave the field.

'Accident' happened with Akshar Patel

In this match, India batted first and scored 238 runs.

But Axar Patel had to face injury during New Zealand's chase. He took the important wicket of Glenn Phillips in this match, but then got injured while trying to catch a shot from Daryl Mitchell on his own bowling. This incident happened in the 16th over of the innings, where the ball hit the tip of the index finger of his left hand. After which blood was seen flowing from his finger, and then Akshar immediately left the field.

After the physio's examination, Akshar could not return to the match. Abhishek Sharma bowled the remaining balls of his over. But his injury is a big tension for the team, especially considering the preparations for the T20 World Cup 2026.

Akshar is an important spin all-rounder of the team, who brings balance in both batting and bowling. Along with this, he is also the vice-captain of the Indian T20 team.
