Champions Trophy 2025 is to be held in Pakistan and almost all the teams are certain to tour Pakistan but it seems very difficult for India to go to Pakistan. At this time every cricket fan just wants to know whether Indian team Will the Champions tour Pakistan for the Trophy or some other solution will be found.

In an important development, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has made its stand clear on India's possible participation in the Champions Trophy next year. BCCI Vice President Rajiv Shukla has revealed that in the tournament Indian team Participation will be subject to Government approval. Speaking to ANI, Rajeev Shukla said that BCCI will only follow the decision of the Government of India, which will be considered final regarding the matter.

He said, “In case of Champions Trophy, we will do whatever the Government of India asks us to do. We send our team only when the Government of India allows us. So we will go by the decision of the Government of India.”

It is clear from this statement of Rajeev Shukla that now the ball is in the court of the Indian government, hence it will be interesting to see what happens in the future. Notably, India ended its bilateral cricket relations with Pakistan following its involvement in the infamous Mumbai terrorist attacks in 2008. Although it restarted briefly in 2012–13, India eventually discontinued it again for the same reason. Therefore, since 2012–13, the two teams have not played a single bilateral series and have faced each other only in ICC tournaments.

India has not traveled to Pakistan since 2008, so it is expected that their government will take the familiar decision and not allow the players to play the Champions Trophy on Pakistani soil. If this indeed happens, the PCB may propose a hybrid model and hold the tournament like the Asia Cup 2023.
