Lucknow . All illegal tombs built in the campus of King George’s Medical University (KGMU) will be removed. KGMU administration will soon start action for this. KGMU spokesperson Dr. K.K. Singh said that many tombs have been removed. Those that are left will also be removed by taking action as per rules. The mausoleum built behind the ophthalmology center of KGMU will be shifted to one side. So that construction work can be done on the vacant land.

There are tombs at these places of KGMU

The tomb is in an area of ​​20 thousand square feet behind the Ophthalmology Department of KGMU. In April 2025, the team that had gone to remove encroachment was attacked. The police had demolished the shops built here but the tomb is still there. There is a mausoleum built on the right side next to the Trauma Center of KGMU. Apart from this, there is the tomb of Pir-e-Murshid Haji Harman Shah in the Queen Mary complex. This shrine is built on the right side of Queen Mary’s gate. The entire complex of this shrine is quite big. Urs is also organized here by the Itejamia Committee. Similarly, between the new OPD building and the new dental building, there is the shrine of Dargah Hazrat Makhdoomshah Meena Shah. Shops are also set up in the premises of this shrine. The inside premises are also sensitive. A tomb has also been built near the RLC building of KGMU in Daliganj. The administration team had come once to remove this tomb but due to the poor attitude of the KGMU administration, the tomb was not removed. Similarly, there is a mausoleum near the OPD building of the Pulmonary Critical Care Medicine department of KGMU.

VHP had raised the demand to remove the tomb

After the case of Love Jihad in KGMU came to light, Vishwa Hindu Parishad had demanded the removal of illegal tombs built in the KGMU campus. Dr. Rameez has gone to jail in the Love Jihad case. State Organization Minister said that VHP was the first to highlight the issue of Love Jihad of KGMU and took action. In the coming time, VHP will work to remove these tombs with the help of the administration.
