Delhi: The seventh match of ICC U19 World Cup 2026 was played between India and Bangladesh. Rain interrupted the match held at Queen’s Sports Club, Bulawayo twice. It was decided to play the first match of 49-49 overs. Team India, who came to bat first, was all out for 238 in 48.4 overs. After this, Bangladesh’s innings was again interrupted due to rain. Now according to DLS, Bangladesh got the target of 165 runs in 29 overs. But, the team was all out for 146 in 28.3 overs and India won the match by 18 runs.

Abhigyan-Suryavanshi took over India’s innings

The Indian team, which came to bat first after losing the toss, did not have a good start. Captain Ayush Mhatre got only 6 outs. After this, Vaibhav Suryavanshi batted aggressively and scored 72 runs. He kept the run pace fast with fours and sixes.

Abhigyan Kundu handled the innings in the middle order. Despite wickets falling, he batted with patience and scored 80 runs in 112 balls. Apart from him, Kanishk Chauhan played a quick inning of 28 runs. Deepesh Devendran added useful runs in the lower order and took the team to 238 runs.

Al Fahad bowled brilliantly for Bangladesh and took 5 wickets.

Vihaan-Heinil tightened the noose on Bangladesh

The match resumed after rain and under Duckworth-Lewis rule, Bangladesh got the target of 165 runs in 29 overs. Initially Bangladesh seemed to be in a good position. After 17 overs they were close to the target with 8 wickets in hand.

But, from here the course of the match changed. Captain Ayush Mhatre handed the ball to Vihaan Malhotra and this decision proved to be decisive. Vihaan put pressure on the batsmen with his accurate bowling and took wickets one after the other.

Vihaan took 4 wickets for just 14 runs in 4 overs. Azizul Hakim played a good inning of 51 runs, but he too got out under pressure. Bangladesh’s batsmen got nervous in the last overs and the entire team was reduced to 146 runs. Apart from Vihaan, Henil Patel, who took the wicket in the last match, also took 3 important wickets for India.

India U19 won this match by 18 runs. Abhigyan Kundu’s batting and Vihaan Malhotra’s lethal bowling were most important in this victory.

Team India’s next match is against New Zealand on 24 January. This will be the team’s last match in the group stage.
