Delhi: The start of the Women’s Premier League (WPL) 2026 match between Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) and Gujarat Giants (GG) was very exciting. An embarrassing record was made for the bowler in the very first over of the match. Gujarat bowler Renuka Singh Thakur made this over so expensive that RCB got 23 runs in the first over itself.
Unwanted record in Renuka’s name
This over of Renuka has come on top in the first over which gave the most runs in WPL. Grand opener Grace Harris took full advantage of the balls of the first over. He hit 3 fours and put his team in a strong position in the powerplay. In this over, runs were scored continuously due to 2 wides and leg-ball, due to which Renuka had to work hard after this over.
The scorecard of the first over was something like this: The first ball was wide, then Grace hit a four, the next ball was again a four and runs were scored continuously. The over ended with RCB scoring 23/0, giving the team a great start.
