RCB clinch third straight win, down Gujarat Giants by 32 runs in WPL 2026

Radha Yadav and Richa Ghosh rescued RCB from a challenging situation.

Royal Challengers Bengaluru have defeated Gujarat Giants by 32 runs to remain unbeaten in the Women’s Premier League. They have registered three wins from three games and are leading the standings with 6 points. Chasing 183 at the DY Patil Stadium, GG were restricted to 150 all out in the allotted 20 overs.

Sophie Devine (8), Beth Mooney (27), Kanika Ahuja (16), Ashleigh Gardner (3), and Georgia Wareham (13) disappointed with the bat. Bharti Fulmali showed some fight, amassing 39 runs off 20 balls, with the help of 3 fours and 3 sixes. Kashvee Gautam posted 18 runs off 14 deliveries, with the help of 1 four and 1 six.

Tanuja Kanwar (21), Shivani Singh (0) and Renuka (2) were the last three batters to be dismissed.

Lauren Bell and Shreyanka Patil were impressive with the ball. Shreyanka took five wickets while Lauren added three scalps to her bowling figures.

Nadine and Arundhati Reddy dismissed one batter each.

Earlier, Radha Yadav and Richa Ghosh rescued RCB from a challenging situation. The 2024 champions were 43 for 4 at one stage, and it was a 105-run stand between Radha and Richa that took the franchise to 182/7. Radha scored 66 runs off 47 balls, including 6 fours and 3 sixes, while Richa posted 44 runs off 28 balls, packed with 4 boundaries and 2 maximums.

Nadine de Klerk’s 12-ball 26 also played a key role for the Bengaluru-based franchise. She hit 2 fours and 2 sixes.

Smriti Mandhana (4), Grace Harris (17), Dayalan Hemalatha (4) and Gautami Naik (4) were undone by rivals. Sophie (3 wickets), Gautam (2 wickets), Wareham (1 wicket) and Renuka Singh (1 wicket) provided important breakthroughs.

GG have lost two successive games after starting the tournament with back-to-back wins.
