Smriti Mandhana signed by Manchester Super Giants, set to feature in Women’s Hundred

India’s star opening batter, Smriti Mandhana, was, on Thursday, signed by Manchester Super Giants for the upcoming Hundred Women’s competition.

The stylish left-hander has featured in four editions of the franchise tournament, between 2021 and 2024, scoring 676 runs in 29 innings for Southern Brave.

Mandhana is among six Indians to have featured in the tournament so far. The list includes India captain Harmanpreet Kaur, star all-rounder Deepti Sharma, swashbuckling opener Shafali Verma, aggressive wicketkeeper-batter Richa Ghosh and middle-order anchor Jemimah Rodrigues.

The Super Giants also announced the signing of former Australia captain Meg Lanning, who has previously represented London Spirit and Oval Invincibles in the tournament. In 18 matches, Lanning has scored 457 runs at a strike rate of 132.08.
