-Search for accused constable in Yamuna river

Banda, 15 January (HS). Due to domestic dispute late on Wednesday night in Marka town of Banda district of Uttar Pradesh, a PAC constable posted in UP 112, Gaurav Kumar, attacked his wife and three-year-old daughter with an axe. The innocent girl died during treatment in the attack, while the condition of the wife remains critical. The accused constable absconded after the incident. Since his mobile was found on the banks of river Yamuna, it is suspected that he might have committed suicide by jumping into the river. Police have started a search operation at possible places including Yamuna river with the help of SDRF, divers and local citizens.

Accused constable Garav Kumar is a resident of village Kuiyabut of Maudarbaja police station area of ​​Farrukhabad district and was currently posted as a driver in Dial 112 vehicle of Marka police station. He lived with his 32-year-old wife Shivani and three-year-old daughter Pari in a rented house in the town, about a kilometer away from the police station.

On Wednesday afternoon, constable Gairav ​​Kumar had taken his wife and daughter to the Makar Sankranti fair organized in the town. After returning from there, there was a dispute between the two regarding some issue at around 9 pm. It is alleged that during this time the constable attacked his wife and daughter with an axe, seriously injuring them. After this he closed the door of the room from outside and fled from the spot.

Hearing the screams at the time of the incident, the landlord raised an alarm, upon which the neighbors reached the spot and informed the police. Police and Dial 112 team took both the injured to Community Health Center (CHC) Baberu. When his condition became critical, the doctors referred him to Rani Durgavati Medical College. The innocent fairy died during treatment there, while the seriously injured woman has been referred to Kanpur for better treatment.

Area officer Baberu Saurabh Singh said on Thursday that interrogation of neighbors revealed that there were often disputes between husband and wife over domestic matters. In the initial investigation, family dispute is being considered as the reason for the incident. He told that the mobile phone of the accused constable has been found on the banks of Yamuna river, due to which there is a possibility of him jumping into the river. To search for him, a search operation is being conducted in Yamuna river and other possible places with the help of SDRF team, divers and local people. According to police officials, further legal action will be taken on the basis of search operation and evidence.
