On Tuesday (January 13), the 6th match of WPL 2026 is being played between Gujarat Giants and Mumbai Indians at DY Patil Stadium in Navi Mumbai. After winning the toss, Mumbai Indians captain Harmanpreet Kaur has decided to bowl first.
Gujarat’s fourth wicket fell on the first ball of the 11th over of Gujarat Giants’ innings, after which 25-year-old debutant Ayushi Soni came on the field to bat. Meanwhile, Harmanpreet Kaur, in her usual playful style, stopped Aayushi and suddenly demanded to get her bat checked. When the bat gauge could not be found, Harmanpreet herself was shocked.
Ayushi Soni also got a little nervous due to this unexpected situation and she immediately pointed towards the dressing room and asked to get a new bat. However, later the umpire again examined the bat properly, in which it was found to be completely in accordance with the rules. After this Ayushi heaved a sigh of relief and got ready to bat.
Interestingly, Harmanpreet also gave a light kick to her teammate Hayley Mathews in a joking manner, as if the idea of bat check was hers. This moment on the field was quite entertaining for the fans.
