IMD Warning: Cold at its peak in North India, yellow alert in many states including Delhi-NCR

Weather News: It is extremely cold in entire North India including Delhi-NCR. IMD has issued a warning of dense to very dense fog over Punjab, Jammu and North Haryana, North-Western Uttar Pradesh and South Uttarakhand on January 13. Dense fog is expected at Amritsar Airport and Jammu Airport.

Delhi, UP, Haryana, Punjab, Chandigarh and Uttarakhand are currently in the grip of cold wave. Talking about Rajasthan, the temperature in many districts has reached below the freezing point. The minimum temperature was recorded at minus 0.4 degrees in Fatehpur and 1.3 degrees in Churu. At present, the Meteorological Department has expressed the possibility of the cold wave continuing.

Severe cold in Haryana, Punjab and Rajasthan

In some states of North India, it is sunny during the day, but it is extremely cold during the late night and morning. In Gurugram adjacent to Delhi and Bathinda in Punjab, the late night temperature was recorded up to 0.6 degrees. There is a situation of frost and dense fog in many areas. Meanwhile, IMD has warned of fog in Punjab, Jammu and North Haryana, North-Western Uttar Pradesh and Southern Uttarakhand.

When will it rain and snow in Himachal?

There was hardly any rain and snowfall in Himachal Pradesh this winter. 96 percent less rainfall has been recorded in November and 88 percent less rainfall so far in January. Due to which it is having a bad impact on farmers, gardeners and tourism. Due to lack of snowfall, people are not going to visit Himachal Pradesh. At present, there is a possibility of light snowfall in the higher areas between January 16 and 19.

Some respite from sunlight in Bihar and UP

There has been a slight reduction in the cold due to sunshine in many districts of Bihar. This is going to continue like this for the next 5 days. However, the cold will increase in the evening. But around January 17, western disturbance may become active, due to which the cold may increase further. IMD has advised people to wear warm clothes, protect themselves from cold and take precautions while travelling. According to IMD, cold weather will continue for the next few days, after which there may be some relief.
