Punjab reaches semi-finals of Vijay Hazare Trophy, Iyer out on 0, even Patidar could not save defeat

Punjab vs Madhya Pradesh:The Madhya Pradesh team performed very poorly at BCCI's Center of Excellence ground, due to which it had to suffer a crushing defeat in the quarter-finals of the Vijay Hazare Trophy. Punjab won this match by a huge margin of 183 runs. In this knock out match, Punjab, batting first, scored 345 runs for 6 wickets, in reply Madhya Pradesh team was limited to only 162 runs. Despite the presence of batsmen like Rajat Patidar, Venkatesh Iyer, Yash Dubey, Madhya Pradesh team could not stand anywhere in front of Punjab.

Punjab batsmen won the match

The script of Punjab's victory was written by its batsmen. Left-handed openers Harnoor Singh and Prabhsimran Singh made a huge partnership of 116 runs for the first wicket. Harnoor scored 51 runs and Prabhsimran Singh scored 88 runs. Anmolpreet Singh scored 70 runs in 62 balls and Nehal Wadhera, who came to bat in the middle order, scored 56 runs and took the team to the score of 345 runs. Tripuresh Singh and captain Venkatesh Iyer took 2-2 wickets. Aryan Pandey and Kuldeep Sen managed to take 1 wicket each.

Madhya Pradesh's batting failed

Madhya Pradesh tried to reach Punjab's target but its batsmen failed in this attempt. Himanshu Mantri was out after scoring 18 runs. Yash Dubey could score 3 runs. Shubhman Sharma was out after scoring 24 runs. Rajat Patidar after scoring 38 runs. Venkatesh Iyer could not open the account. Akshat Raghuvanshi was out after scoring 4 runs. With this defeat, Madhya Pradesh was out of the Vijay Hazare Trophy.
