Gujarat Giants were clinical against the Delhi Capitals, registering a 4-run win in their second match of the Women’s Premier League 2026. With their second victory, GG have climbed to the top of the standings with four points. Chasing 210 runs, the Capitals managed 205/6 in the allotted 20 overs.

DC opener Lizelle Lee scored 86 runs off 54 balls, with the help of 12 fours and 3 sixes. Laura Wolvaardt stunned the Gujarat Giants with her aggressive batting. She amassed an unbeaten 77 runs off 38 balls, with the help of 9 fours and 3 sixes. However, her dismissal in the last over ended Delhi’s chances.

DC needed just 7 runs from 6 balls, with the skipper Jemimah Rodrigues and Laura in the middle. Giants’ leader Ashleigh Gardner gave the ball to Sophie Devine, which proved to be the masterstroke as she conceded just 2 runs and sent back Jemimah and Laura Wolvaardt. DC have lost two games in a row.

Earlier, Gujarat were looking set for a 225-plus score, but the batting collapse kept the score to 209. Devine pressed the attacking button from the start and added 95 runs off 42 balls to the total. She hit 8 sixes and 7 fours, with her runs coming at a strike rate of 226.19. Giants skipper Ashleigh Gardner was brilliant with the willow, posting 49 runs off 26 deliveries, laced with 4 boundaries and 3 maximums. The remaining batters were found wanting in front of Nandani Sharma, who took five wickets, including a hat-trick.
