Lucknow: The Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024 is now slowly moving towards its end. Now more than half of the matches of this tournament have been played and so far two teams have almost qualified for the playoffs. This includes Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) and Rajasthan Royals (RR), while the remaining teams are giving tough competition to each other for the other two places. However, former Indian fast bowler Zaheer Khan has given a shocking statement about the team.

The former fast bowler says that if Delhi Capitals (DC) qualifies for the IPL playoffs, it will be the biggest surprise for me. Let us tell you that Delhi has performed disappointingly so far this season and after winning 5 out of 11 matches, this team is currently in sixth place with 10 points. They now have to play three matches in this tournament and if they win all the matches, they will make their place in the top-4. While talking on this issue on Geo Cinema, Khan gave a shocking reaction.

He said, “If Delhi qualifies for the playoffs this year, it will be the biggest surprise for me. The main reason for this is that he has had a similar season. For the first time in my life I have seen a team making so many changes. However, injury has also been the main reason behind this. David Warner and Mukesh Kumar were also injured but they make two or three changes in every match. If a team qualifies despite so many mistakes, it will be the biggest surprise for me.”

Let us tell you that Delhi is currently at sixth position with 10 points in 11 matches, whereas if UP wins the next three matches, then their total will be 16 points and in such a situation they can qualify. However, there are some teams in a better position than Delhi in this race, which include Chennai Super Kings (CSK), Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) and Lucknow Super Giants (LSG). DC has to play its next three matches against Rajasthan, Bengaluru and Lucknow. In such a situation, it is not going to be easy for them at all.
