Abrar Ahmed’s viral send-off:

At the Champions Trophy 2025, this meme came after his animated send-off to Shubman Gill. After Gill’s early dismissal, Abar shook his head to troll him. However, Virat Kohli showed the mirror to this Pakistani spinner and beat him in a very amazing manner in his 100. Fans made fun of Abar for celebrating Gill’s wicket.

Pain hidden in Sanjeev Goenka’s smile:

The cameras used to turn towards Sanjeev Goenka when Rishabh Pant, who was priced at Rs 27 crore in every IPL match, was out cheaply. In one match, the opposite drama happened because Sanjiya Goenka had a smile on his face instead of anger and the cameras captured his calm but funny reaction. The message in every meme was that Sanjiv Goenka has learned to swallow his anger considering it a game of fate. Social media exaggerated the moment, leading to jokes about the pressure, expectations and big-money purchases.

Akshar Patel’s carefree reaction despite defeat:

After a defeat of Delhi Capitals, when he was asked on the stage where Delhi Capitals lost the match, instead of citing any technical reason or the shortcomings of the game, he said in a very carefree and mischievous manner, ‘The match just went towards Mumbai.’ When the presenter teasingly said that Akshar Patel was looking disappointed, Akshar laughed and his carefree reaction was very much liked by the fans and a lot of memes were made.

Ishan Kishan’s entry in the batting lineup:

Joining the formidable batting lineup of Sunrisers Hyderabad, when Ishan Kishan made his first IPL 100, the Marathi line ‘Kay Re Mandali’ went viral on social media. Ishaan changed the story of the season. This Marathi line is often used lightly as ‘so now what’ or ‘now what do you say’ and was a direct reply to the experts of Mumbai Indians and BCCI who considered him useless.

Stupid…stupid…stupid…:

This is none other than Sunil Gavaskar’s angry on-air reaction to Rishabh Pant’s dismissal during the Border-Gavaskar Trophy and it went viral. So much so that it became a catchphrase and fans continued to use it throughout the years to make fun of bad decisions. In IPL 2025, Gavaskar used this line again while jokingly talking about Lucknow’s batting on live TV.

Shubman Gill’s sledging that became a comedy show:

During India’s tour of England, when captain Shubman Gill cornered Zak Crawley who was wasting time in the third Test, Gill’s animated action of saying ‘show some courage’ instantly went viral and became a meme moment on social media.

Ben Stokes’ handshake that remained incomplete:

English captain Ben Stokes offered handshakes to Ravindra Jadeja and Washington Sundar as the Manchester Test of Anderson-Tendulkar Trophy ended in a draw. Both batsmen refused. Both were close to their respective 100 and why would they miss the chance to make it? If someone offered a handshake and it remained incomplete, it was bound to become a meme. This moment immediately went viral and caused a lot of mockery.

Mohsin Naqvi’s new nickname:

When a Pakistani minister, board chief and ACC chief refused to accept the trophy from the Indian team after winning the Asia Cup, they not only disappeared from the stadium but also took the trophy with them as if it was their property. Due to this, he got the nickname of ‘Trophy Chor’ and it became a meme which went viral. A trophy presentation, his actions became a joke and netizens started making memes.

Celebration on champion team even without trophy:

It got the name ‘Invisible Trophy’ meme. If Team India did not accept the Asia Cup from ACC Chief Mohsin Naqvi, it does not mean that Team India should not even celebrate the victory. Hands were made as if lifting the trophy and the celebration started. There was a lot of reaction to India’s celebration without the actual trophy and Naqvi was trolled for his unprofessional behaviour.

Stuart Broad was left shaking his head:

This viral moment is from when Stuart Broad closed his eyes in frustration and turned his head away in an unsuccessful attempt to hide his face from the camera in an unsuccessful attempt to save his face from discomfort, just after England’s batting collapse in the Perth Test of the Ashes 2025-26. Within no time, people turned it into a relatable meme of shock, despair and helplessness. Broad added spice to this by saying that whatever happened was just a natural reaction and I was just praying that it was not actually happening. This thing made this meme more interesting.
