Padikkal has now become the first batsman to score more than 600 runs in three different seasons of Vijay Hazare Trophy. This achievement reflects his consistently excellent form and makes him one of India’s most reliable domestic batsmen.
He made a big name for himself in this tournament for the first time in the 2019-20 season. In that season, he scored 609 runs in 11 matches and was the highest run-scorer. After this, he touched an even higher level in the 2020-21 season. He scored 737 runs in just seven innings. During this period his average was more than 147 and he scored four centuries. Karnataka team reached the semi-finals that season.
The story remained similar in the 2025-26 season also. Padikkal again crossed the 600 run mark. In this season he played big innings of 147, 124 and 113 runs. His most special thing was that he scored more than fifty seven consecutive times.
In the match against Rajasthan, Padikkal scored 91 runs on 82 balls. In this innings he hit 12 fours and 2 sixes. His 184-run opening partnership with captain Mayank Agarwal gave Karnataka a strong start.

Devdutt has also played Test and T20 international matches for India. He will be seen playing for Royal Challengers Bangalore in IPL 2026.
