Vaibhav Suryavanshi Breaks Rishabh Pant’s Long-Held Record

India’s 14-year-old batter Vaibhav Suryavanshi scripted another record, scripting the fastest half-century by an Indian batter in Youth ODIs. The young southpaw achieved the milestone during the second Youth ODI against South Africa U19 at Willowmoore Park, breaking the record of Rishabh Pant.

Leading the team in the absence of regular captain Ayush Mhatre, Suryavanshi went after the rival bowlers. He completed the fifty in just 15 balls, going past Pant’s record of 18 balls.

He was dismissed after accumulating 68 runs off 24 deliveries. He hit 10 sixes and 1 four, posting 64 of his 68 runs from boundaries.

South Africa U19 were bowled out for 245 in 49.3 overs. India were given a revised target of 174 runs from 27 overs due to rain.

George was the first batter to be sent back after scoring 20 runs off 19 balls, with India at 67/1 in 6.1 overs.

Vedant Trivedi and Abhigyan Kundu then took the Indian team to win.

Trivedi was unbeaten on 31, while Kundu added 48 runs.

For South Africa U19, Michael Kruiskamp registered figures of 2/23 from his six overs.

Earlier, South Africa batter Jason Rowles scored 114 off 113 balls, but the rest of the willow holders failed to get going.

India’s Kishan Singh took 4 wickets and conceded 46 runs in 8.3 overs.

RS Ambrish claimed 2 scalps while Kanishk Chouhan and Khilan Patel picked up one wicket each.
