Varanasi. A tragic incident in Kardhana (Kalwariya) village of Mirzamurad police station area shook the entire village. On Sunday afternoon, three girls playing in the garden with their children picked up a pomegranate and ate it. After some time, all three girls started vomiting, so the frightened family members took all three to Jansa Hospital, from where the doctor declared one girl dead while the other two were referred to Varanasi. Where both of them died during treatment. According to the information, on Sunday afternoon in Kardhana (Kalwaria) village, Mithilesh Prajapati’s two daughters, Harshita Prajapati (6) and Anshika Prajapati (3) and neighbor Manish Prajapati’s daughter Nancy Prajapati (4) were playing in the garden with four other children. At the same time, there was a pomegranate tree next to the garden. While playing, Harshita, Anshika and Nancy picked up the fallen fruit and after some time all three were free. When the girls started vomiting, all the family members reached the spot and asked the other children who were playing. They all told that the fruit had fallen there and picked it up. When their health became worse, all the family members immediately took their children to Chhaya Hospital in Jansa, where the doctor declared Harshita dead, while the doctor referred Anshika and Nancy to Varanasi.

The family took Nancy to BHU and took Anshika to Om Kilkari Hospital in Pahadia, where at one o’clock in the night the doctor referred Anshika to Deendayal Hospital, where she was already dead when the family took her. Nancy died during treatment at BHU at eight o’clock on Monday morning. Without informing the police, the family got Harshita and Anshika cremated in Varanasi and the police, after conducting the post-mortem of Nancy, The dead body was given to the relatives and the body was also cremated in Varanasi. All three dead bodies reached the village together but the situation became inconsolable, while the family members including the deceased Harshita and Anshika’s mother Manisha Devi and Nancy’s mother Anjani Devi remained in a bad state, crying.

Deceased Nancy’s father Manish Prajapati lives in Bangalore and drives a tempo. Nancy was the second among two sisters and one brother. After getting information about Nancy’s condition worsening, father Manish reached home in the morning by flight and got information that the girl had died. Harshita and Anshika’s father Mithilesh Prajapati lives in the village and does weaving work. Among the three children of Mithilesh Prajapati, deceased Harshita was the second and Anshika was the third. On receiving information about the incident, a large number of police including ADCP Vaibhav Bangar, Naib Tehsildar Deepali Maurya, Mirzamurad police station in-charge Pramod Kumar Pandey, Kardhana outpost in-charge Ajit Kumar Mishra reached the spot, took information about the incident from the relatives of the deceased girls and expressed grief over this heart-wrenching incident. The Kanerphal tree standing in the garden was cut and felled by the villagers. Harshita was said to be a UKG student and Nancy was said to be a LKG student. The other children playing together were examined by the medical team after reaching the spot.
