Fans were eagerly waiting for Virat Kohli to feature in a third Vijay Hazare Trophy match for Delhi against the Railways on January 6th, but according to recent reports, it seems that the Indian middle-order maestro will skip the domestic clash.
As per a report from ANI, Virat Kohli won’t be available for selection for Delhi for the match against the Railways at the KSCA Cricket Ground. While the reports didn’t mention the reason behind his absence, it will surely be a big blow for fans and Delhi.
In accordance with BCCI’s new rule that all of India’s centrally contracted players had to play a minimum of two Vijay Hazare Trophy matches if they wanted to be a part of India’s ODI setup in the future, Virat Kohli played in Delhi’s first two games. His stats in the two games read: 208 runs in two matches (two innings) with an impressive average of 104.00 and a strike rate of over 100, which included a century and a half-century.
Kohli missed the last 2 matches as he spent time with family. Previously, there were reports that Virat Kohli might play his 3rd Vijay Hazare Trophy match before joining the Indian camp for the 3-match ODI series vs the Kiwis. But now it seems fans would be able to enjoy the presence of the King on the field again, directly on the 11th January as India lock horns with New Zealand at the BCA Stadium in Vadodara, Gujarat.
