Just a month before the start of T20 World Cup 2026, the India-Bangladesh dispute is increasing. Cricket is now getting affected due to the political situation in both the countries. After BCCI's decision to exclude Bangladeshi fast bowler Mustafizur Rahman from IPL 2026, Bangladesh Cricket Board has refused to come to India for the T20 World Cup and has demanded ICC to change the venue of its matches. But will this happen? According to a report, initial indications suggest that ICC may accept this demand.

Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) called an emergency meeting on Sunday, July 4, in which the Board of Directors decided that in the current circumstances they will not send their team to India for the World Cup. Along with this, the Bangladeshi board also formally requested the ICC that in view of the safety of its players and support staff, its T20 World Cup matches to be held in India should be shifted to some other place.

A report in Cricbuzz has claimed that the ICC headed by Jay Shah can consider this request and organize Bangladesh's matches in Sri Lanka, the second host of the tournament. It has also been said in the report that since this matter came to light on Sunday, no formal discussion and decision has been taken on it. BCB's demand can be discussed and considered when the ICC office reopens on Monday, January 5. In such a situation, there will be a need to change the schedule of the tournament which is going to start in less than 5 weeks, under which all four group matches of Bangladesh and possible matches of further stages will be played in 3 venues of Sri Lanka instead of India.
