Delhi: Team India has been announced for the 3-match ODI series against New Zealand. Shubman Gill will captain the team. On the basis of fitness in the team, vice-captain Shreyas Iyer has returned to the team. This series will start from January 11 in Vadodara, which will be India’s first ODI series this year.
A few days ago, due to his excellent performance, Ishan Kishan was included in the team for the T20 series against New Zealand and the T20 World Cup. However, he has not got a place in the ODI squad. Apart from him, Ruturaj Gaikwad, who was part of the team in the South Africa ODI series, has also not been included.
Apart from this, there were speculations that fast bowler Mohammed Shami might get a chance, but his name also did not come up.
Keeping workload management in mind, the selectors have rested Hardik Pandya and Jasprit Bumrah.
The responsibility of fast bowling has been entrusted to Prasidh Krishna, Arshdeep Singh and Harshit Rana. Kuldeep Yadav has been included in the spin department.
