There was a toss in this match but the umpires decided to cancel the match in view of the bad weather.

Deaths have occurred due to lightning

On January 24, 2024, a local cricket match was going on in New South Wales and suddenly lightning struck, killing 31-year-old David Evans. Evans had come to bat and suddenly lightning hit his helmet. The electric shock was so strong that he died on the spot, and even created a big crater in the field. 6-7 players were also injured in this.
