Rajasthan Royals and Kolkata Knight Riders have qualified for the playoffs in the Indian Premier League 2024. KKR are currently at the top of the points table, with Sunil Narine and Phil Salt ruling the batting charts. Narine, in particular, has been sensational for the two-time champions. In the game against Lucknow Super Giants, they again provided another aggressive start to the team, leaving the rivals under pressure.
Sunil smashed 81 runs off 39 balls, with the help of 7 sixes and 6 fours at a strike rate of 207.69.
On the other hand, Salt struck 32 off 14 deliveries, packed with 5 fours and 1 six. The two added 61 runs in 4.2 overs. Suryakumar Yadav, one of the most destructive players in T20 cricket, lauded Narine and Salt for their display against the Lucknow-based Giants.
‘Heavy destruction,” he wrote on Instagram.
Narine has refused to retire to play for West Indies in the ICC T20 World Cup 2024. Despite Windies captain Rovman Powell’s efforts, the veteran felt playing for the national team again was wrong.
Salt has been named in the World Cup squad by England after his heroics for the KInight Riders in the 17th season of the cash-rich league.
