Amanjot Kaur was recognised for her outstanding fielding after India wrapped up a dominant 5-0 T20I series win over Sri Lanka. In a video posted by the BCCI, head coach Amol Muzumdar named the seam-bowling all-rounder as the undisputed best fielder of the series, with the announcement drawing cheers from the Indian squad.

During the final T20I at the Greenfield International Stadium, Amanjot Kaur produced a well-rounded display in India’s 15-run triumph, contributing 21 runs from 18 balls, picking up a wicket for 17 runs, and impressing with her athleticism in the field.

The clean sweep against Sri Lanka rounded off an outstanding year for India, highlighted by their triumph at the 2025 Women’s ODI World Cup at home, a successful defence of the U19 Women’s T20 World Cup title, and white-ball series victories over England.

“Warm wishes for the New Year. Let’s carry the same momentum into 2026 as we did at the start of 2025. Outstanding effort once again—winning 5-0 sends a strong message,” Muzumdar said.

Following the New Year break, India’s cricketers will link up with their WPL teams for the 2026 season, running January 9 to February 5 across two venues: Navi Mumbai’s DY Patil Sports Academy and Vadodara’s Kotambi Stadium.

The season gets underway as Mumbai Indians, captained by Harmanpreet Kaur, face off against defending champions Royal Challengers Bengaluru, led by Smriti Mandhana.

Mumbai Indians come in as the defending champions, while Royal Challengers Bengaluru are the only other side with a WPL title to their name. Delhi Capitals, now under Jemimah Rodrigues, have been runners-up three times with Meg Lanning as captain, and Gujarat Giants and UP Warriorz are still chasing their first final.
