WhatsApp is constantly introducing new features to improve the experience of its users. In this series, the company is now bringing a new voice and video calling feature for WhatsApp Web. According to a report, this feature is still in the development stage and in the coming time, users will be able to enjoy calling from the browser itself. The new feature will support one-on-one calls as well as group calls, allowing web client users to easily make video and voice calls with their contacts.

It has been said in the report that after the rollout of this feature, WhatsApp is working on improving its stability, performance and reliability in all browsers. A screenshot of the new feature has also been shared, in which WhatsApp web users are seen getting the option to enable or disable call notifications. In the settings panel, users will get to see notification controls like individual chat, group conversation and status updates of contacts. Along with the calling update, notification controls for voice and video calls will also be available in WhatsApp Web.

According to the report, this new feature will be enabled by default, due to which the user will get alert of incoming call in the browser even if the conversation is not open. Also, users will be able to turn notifications on or off as per their need. WhatsApp has also confirmed that calls made from WhatsApp Web will be protected by end-to-end encryption, thereby maintaining both privacy and security.

The company has said that this feature is still in the development phase and it is likely that its beta testing will be started in the coming time. With the introduction of this feature, WhatsApp web users will get the facility to make calls without the mobile app and it will make voice and video communication on the web platform easier. This feature will prove to be even more useful by giving users full rights to control notifications.
