According to the information, the Prime Minister’s National Child Award is given to children aged 5 to 18 years for exceptional achievements in fields such as sports, bravery, innovation, science, social service and culture. This year a total of 20 children received this honour, including Vaibhav Suryavanshi.

Due to being present at the ceremony at Rashtrapati Bhavan, Vaibhav Suryavanshi could not play his second match for Bihar in Vijay Hazare Trophy (VHT) 2025-26. In the previous match, left-handed batsman Vaibhav played a brilliant inning of 190 runs against Arunachal Pradesh. Because of this, fans did not get a chance to see his batting on Friday. Bihar faced Manipur on Friday.

The reason for Vaibhav Suryavanshi’s absence was very special. He was instructed to report early in the morning for the ceremony, an honor that comes only once in a player’s lifetime. During the ceremony, President Draupadi Murmu praised all the award winning children and said, “The achievements of all of you inspire the entire nation. Every child honored today is equally important. It is because of such talented children that India shines in the world.”

The President also said that due to paucity of time, names of all the children could not be taken, but every child has made extraordinary contribution in their respective fields. Additionally, he also gave credit for the success of the children to their parents and families. It is believed that Vaibhav Suryavanshi will not play further in the current season of Vijay Hazare Trophy this time and his entire focus will now be on Under-19 cricket. It is expected that he will be included in the India Under-19 team for the Under-19 World Cup starting from January 15.
