Now fans will have to wait a little longer to see Vaibhav Suryavanshi on the field again. After playing explosive innings in the Under-19 Asia Cup, Vaibhav also made a stormy start in the Vijay Hazare Trophy. But now after just one match he is out of this tournament. This 14 year old young batsman playing for Bihar had to leave the tournament after just one match due to a special reason. The reason for this is that he has to receive a special award from the President of the country and for this he reached Delhi only after his first match.
Vijay Hazare Trophy 2025-26 started from Wednesday 24th December. Bihar's first match was with Arunachal Pradesh and in this match Vaibhav scored a sensational century. The left-handed star opener created a stir by playing an astonishing and record-breaking inning of 190 runs in just 84 balls. During his innings, Vaibhav completed 150 runs in just 59 balls and broke AB de Villiers' world record of scoring the fastest 150 runs.
On the basis of this innings of Vaibhav Suryavanshi, Bihar had scored a huge score of 574 runs, on the basis of which the team easily won. But now Bihar will have to enter the further matches in this tournament without its star batsman. Actually, this time Vaibhav Suryavanshi will be honored with the Prime Minister's National Children's Award from the Central Government. President Draupadi Murmu will give him this special award at Rashtrapati Bhavan in New Delhi on Friday 26th December. Apart from this, Vaibhav will also meet PM Narendra Modi during this period. To be a part of this big day, Vaibhav reached Delhi straight after playing the first match.
Bihar's next match is on 26th December and hence Vaibhav will not be able to be a part of it. But even after this he will not be able to play in the tournament because after this he will join the Under-19 team, which will leave for South Africa on 30 December. This team will play a series of 3 ODI matches between January 4 and January 9. This series is to be played for the preparations for the Under-19 World Cup. This means that now the fans will have to wait till January 4 to see Vaibhav Suryavanshi again showing the magic of his bat.
