Jordan Cox Blitz Seals Playoffs Spot for Dubai Capitals

Jordan Cox guided Dubai Capitals to secure a 6-wicket victory against Sharjah Warriorz in the 27th match of the ILT20 2025-26 played at Dubai.

Capitals secured third spot in the ILT20 2025-26 points table, and by this win, they became the third team to advance to the knock-out stages.

After being invited to bat first, Sharjah Warriorz’s Johnson Charles and Monank Patel opened the innings while Willey opened the bowling attack.

The duo had a decent start, scoring 34 runs for the first wicket. With Monank Patel’s runout for 24 runs, Sharjah Warriorz struggled to bat, losing wickets at regular intervals.

Haider Ali bagged the wickets of Abell and Kohler-Cadmore for single-digit runs, while Rahman picked the wicket of Sikandar Raza, who was dismissed for 8 runs.

John Charles, who was the leading run scorer for the side in the game, went on to score 43 runs. Mohammad Nabi and Waqar Salamkheil picked one wicket each (James Rew and Ethan Dsouza).

Adil Rashid and Harmeet Singh added up 14 runs each, helping the side to post 134 runs in their 20-over innings along with Southee’s 5* runs.

Haider Ali and Waqar Salamkheil picked two wickets each, while David Willey, Mustafizur Rahman and Mohammad Nabi completed their spells with 1 wicket each.

Needing 135 runs to secure a win in the target, Sediqullah Atal and Shayan Jahangir opened the innings while Sikandar Raza opened the bowling attack.

Atal got dismissed by Harmeet Singh for 7 runs, but Jordan Cox joined Shayan Jahangir made a solid stance, guiding Dubai Capitals towards victory.

Both went on to slam fifty before Raza dismissed Jahangir for 51 runs. Sikandar bagged his second wicket, dismissing Nabi for four runs, and with Taskin Ahmed bagging the wicket of Leus du Ploy for 5 runs, Jordan Cox had done most of the work, completing the chase with an unbeaten 61* runs off 50 deliveries.

Meanwhile, Rovman Powell added 6* runs to the side’s total. Dubai Capitals secured their win in the final over of the innings.
