The veteran batters Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli have smashed centuries on their return to the Vijay Hazare Trophy 2025-26.

In his first appearance after seven years, Rohit Sharma slammed a 94-ball 155 runs as Mumbai secured an 8-wicket victory against Sikkim in the Elite Group C match in Jaipur.

Meanwhile, Virat Kohli, who played in the Vijay Hazare Trophy during the 2010-11 season, reached triple figures in 83 balls during the Elite D fixture against Andhra Pradesh.

Rohit Sharma was named the Player of the Match for his stunning performance in chasing down 237 runs in 30.3 overs. On the other hand, Virat Kohli led Delhi in the pursuit of chasing 299 runs against the Nitish Reddy-led Andhra Pradesh side.

During the game, Virat Kohli achieved the milestone of 16,000 List A runs. Kohli’s 16000-run feat makes him only the second Indian player, after Sachin Tendulkar, to reach the figures in List A cricket.

He is the ninth batter to achieve the feat and added his record list, joining Graham Gooch, Greame Hick, Tendulkar, Kumar Sangakkara, Sir Vivian Richards, Ricky Ponting, Gordon Greenidge and Sanath Jayasuriya.

However, Virat Kohli has amassed scores with the highest average of 57.34. Virat Kohli made his List A debut in February 2006 in the Ranji Trophy One-Day tournament at the Feroz Shah Kotla, though he did not bat in that match.

Despite limited appearances in domestic cricket due to international commitments, Virat Kohli’s numbers in the 50-over format have been imposing.

He is the second-highest run scorer in ODI history, behind Sachin Tendulkar. In 308 ODIs, Virat Kohli amassed 14557 runs at an average of 58.46 and holds the record for most centuries in the format.

In 50-over domestic cricket, Virat Kohli has played 16 games, scoring 910 runs at an average of 60.66 with four centuries and four half-centuries.

His previous Vijay Hazare Trophy appearance came in the 2010-11 season, when he captained the side. He later represented Delhi in the NKP Salve Challenger Trophy in 2013-14, finishing runners-up to India Blue.

In the Bihar captain, Sakibul Gani, recorded a 32-ball century against Arunachal Pradesh, which also happened earlier on Wednesday.

Meanwhile, Vaibhav Suryavanshi has slammed a stunning 190 runs off 84 deliveries while wk-batter Loharuka smashed 116 runs off 56 deliveries, which included 11 fours and eight sixes.

Meanwhile, Wk-batter Ishan Kishan made a 33-ball century for Jharkhand against Karnataka. Her blazing ton is the second-fastest by an Indian in List A cricket.
