India’s Ravi Bishnoi was picked by Rajasthan Royals for Rs. 7.20 crore in the IPL 2026 Auction on Tuesday.
Bishnoi entered the auction at a base price of Rs. 2 crore, with Rajasthan Royals opening the bidding immediately. Chennai Super Kings asked for time before joining in, nudging the price up in fixed increments as the two teams went head to head for the leg-spinner.
CSK steadily pushed the bid to Rs. 4.2 crore, comfortably backed by a sizeable remaining purse. Royals briefly stepped away, only to return at Rs. 4.4 crore, prompting CSK to respond with a flurry of raises that took the price to Rs. 5.8 crore.
After a prolonged huddle at the Royals’ table, RR came back in at Rs. 6 crore. CSK chose not to counter, seemingly handing Royals the player, until Sunrisers Hyderabad entered late at Rs. 6.2 crore, reigniting the contest.
With SRH forcing the issue, the bidding climbed again, eventually settling with Rajasthan Royals at Rs. 7.2 crore when no further paddles were raised.
The Gujarat leg spinner picked up nine wickets in seven matches, bowling at an economy of 8.40 in the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy 2025-26.
Bishnoi played for the Lucknow Super Giants in the IPL 2025.
The 25-year-old has played for two IPL franchises — Lucknow Super Giants and Punjab Kings. He has featured in 77 games, picking 72 wickets, bowling at an economy of 8.21.
