Team India has won the T20 series against South Africa and now the team for T20 World Cup 2026 has also been announced. In such a situation, everyone's attention is currently focused on these two issues only. But amidst all this, two veteran stars of Team India have started their work. After the excellent performance in the ODI series against Australia and South Africa, Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma have again started their preparations and this time their target is Vijay Hazare Trophy.

After playing ODI series in Australia and South Africa, Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma are on a break these days because now they will be seen playing for Team India again only in January 2026. Both of them will return from the 3-match ODI series between India and New Zealand starting from January 11. But there are still a few days left in that series and during this time Rohit and Virat will be seen playing in the Vijay Hazare Trophy, for which both have started preparing themselves again.

Where was Kohli seen practicing?

Vijay Hazare Trophy, the domestic tournament of ODI format, will start from Wednesday 24th December, for which Kohli has been selected in the Delhi team and Rohit in the Mumbai team.

It became clear how serious both the star batsmen are about this tournament because they started their preparations even before joining the team.

Rohit's focus on fitness

Virat Kohli was seen sharpening his batting at a ground in Alibaug near Mumbai.

He spent a lot of time batting in the nets. Videos and photos of his batting also went viral on social media. On the other hand, Rohit Sharma focused on maintaining his fitness before batting practice and was seen taking part in different drills at a ground in Mumbai. He also posted its photo on his Instagram account.

Will follow BCCI's orders

According to reports, Virat and Rohit can be seen playing only 2-2 matches in this tournament, but these two matches will also be important for them.

Both have already proved their form in two consecutive ODI series, but by participating in the Vijay Hazare Trophy, they will not only follow the BCCI order, in which all the players have been asked to play domestic cricket, but will also be able to keep themselves match fit for the ODI series.
